Farman’s Story - In His Words
Our Roots: A Journey Home
"This isn't just history-it's the scent of my grandfather's fields, the dust of mountains I dreamed of, and the homecoming that shaped Yaaduna."
I grew up hearing stories of Afghanistan-of dusty mountain passes and valleys so green they seemed painted. My grandfather's voice would crack as he described the house he built with his own hands, its mud walls holding generations of laughter and struggle.
Though war scattered us, he raised me with those stories like compass points, ensuring I never forgot the land that shaped our blood.
In 2019, twenty years after my birth in exile, I finally stood on Afghan soil. The air smelled of earth and apricot trees, just as he'd promised. There, before his crumbling home-the same one in this photograph-I understood. Those fields he'd tilled to feed our family, the rivers that carved through rock like time itself... they were my inheritance.
Not as property, but as a responsibility to remember.
Yaaduna was born in that moment. Each fragrance carries:
- The weight of his stories (Oud Ghaznavi's smoky depth)
- The sweetness of belonging (Nowruz's Fresh welcoming opening)
• The unbroken spirit (House Of Windsor's bold contrast)
